Media: Lebanon–Israel talks at risk as June 22 meeting hangs in balance
11 June 2026 16:29
A planned round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel on June 22 is at risk of being cancelled due to a lack of willingness from the Israeli side to continue dialogue, Al Jazeera reported, citing a Lebanese diplomatic source.
According to the source, a final decision on whether the meeting will go ahead has not yet been made.
The previous round of talks between the two sides took place on June 3–4 in Washington under US mediation, resulting in an agreement on a ceasefire. However, the parties subsequently exchanged accusations of violating the truce.
