Lebanon and Syria have signed an agreement in Beirut reaffirming their commitment to mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, Al Jazeera reports.
The agreement was signed during a visit to the Lebanese capital by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, who met with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam in the presence of delegations from both countries.
According to the report, the agreement outlines "principles of cooperation, including respect for the sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity of either state, equality between the two parties, and non-interference" in each other's domestic affairs.
