Media: More US forces head to Middle East ahead of Iran talks

The United States is deploying additional military forces to the Middle East as it prepares for upcoming talks with Iran in Pakistan this weekend, according to US officials.

Fighter jets and attack aircraft have recently been sent to the region, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing flight-tracking data and a senior American official.

The report also said that between 1,500 and 2,000 troops from the 82nd Airborne Division could be deployed in the coming days.

In addition, thousands of US Navy sailors and Marines are believed to be heading towards the region, in what officials describe as precautionary measures.
