Media: Poland sold almost 300 armoured vehicles to Ukraine
In 2024, Poland sold Ukraine 295 armored vehicles of various types, 18 Krab self-propelled artillery units (SPGs), 78 122mm-caliber “Gvozdika” howitzers, as well as 10 85mm-caliber D-44M anti-tank guns, according to the Polish military portal Defence24.
However, this information has not yet been officially confirmed by Polish authorities.
The portal notes that these numbers only concern the weapons Poland is selling to Ukraine. Information about free weapon deliveries to Kyiv is classified.
Most of the 295 armoured vehicles sold to Ukraine in 2024 are light Oncilla armoured vehicles, a joint Polish-Ukrainian development, the portal adds.
Defence24 reminds that in 2022, Ukraine was also delivered 54 Krab SPGs, capable of firing 155mm shells up to 40 km.
Poland has been one of Ukraine’s most steadfast allies since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in February 2022, providing extensive military, financial, and humanitarian support driven by shared historical experiences, geopolitical interests, and a mutual perception of Russia as a threat.
Poland has hosted the largest number of Ukrainian refugees, with over 10 million crossing its border since 2022 and approximately 2.5 million currently residing in Poland (nearly 7% of its population).
