Media: Russian attack damages Darnitsa pharmaceutical plant in Kyiv

A Russian strike reportedly hit the Darnitsa pharmaceutical plant in Kyiv, although no employees were killed in the attack, RBC-Ukraine reported, citing a Facebook post by Kateryna Zagoriy, a member of Darnitsa’s Strategic Council and co-founder of the Zagoriy Foundation.

The company confirmed that its facility had been hit but said it was not yet releasing details about the extent of the damage or the consequences of the attack.

“For security reasons and until the competent services have completed their work, we are not commenting on the details of the nature of the damage or the consequences. At this time, we can confirm that there are no casualties among the employees,” Zagoriy said.

She also urged the public not to publish photographs or videos from the site.

Further information on the damage and other consequences of the strike is expected after the relevant emergency and other competent services complete their work.

The incident has also prompted calls for stronger air defences and additional measures to protect civilian infrastructure and industrial facilities.

Darnitsa is a Ukrainian pharmaceutical company headquartered in Kyiv. It manufactures more than 200 medicine brands covering areas including cardiology, neurology and pain management. Its products are available in various forms, including tablets, capsules, ampoules and drops.
