Media: Russian Banderol munitions used in attack on Odesa VIDEO

Odesa came under attack on Thursday, September 24, involving Russian-made Banderol munitions, according to Ukrainian reports.

Monitoring channels reported that about 15 such munitions were simultaneously heading toward the southern Ukrainian city.

Ukraine’s Air Force said Banderol/Dan-T munitions were among the weapons used in Russia’s overnight attack on Ukraine on September 23–24. Odesa and the Kyiv region were the main targets of the broader assault, which also involved Zircon and ballistic missiles as well as hundreds of drones.

The S-8000 Banderol is described by Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence as a Russian cruise missile approximately 5 meters long, with a range of up to 500 kilometres and a maximum speed of about 620–650 km/h.

The weapon carries a warhead weighing about 114 kilograms, according to the information provided in the source report, with almost 50 kilograms of that weight consisting of explosives.
