Media: Spain closes its airspace to US-Israeli operation against Iran

Spain has prohibited the use of its airspace and airbases for aircraft participating in Operation Epic Fury, conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran.

According to El País, Madrid is restricting access to the Rota (Cádiz province) and Morón de la Frontera (Seville province) bases for fighter jets and refuelling aircraft involved in the attacks. It is also banning overflights by American aircraft stationed in third countries such as the UK or France. Exceptions are allowed only in emergencies where overflight or landing may be permitted.

Earlier, the United States decided to redirect its refuelling aircraft from Spain to other countries due to the kingdom’s unwillingness to support the military operation.
