Media: Trump to host Israeli, Lebanese ambassadors for new round of talks
A new round of consultations between the Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors in Washington is set to take place at the White House with the participation of U.S. President Donald Trump, according to Axios correspondent and Israeli Channel 12 journalist Barak Ravid.
The talks will bring together Israel’s ambassador Yechiel Leiter and Lebanon’s ambassador Nada Hamadeh Moawad for what is expected to be the second session of direct discussions hosted in the U.S. capital.
"President Trump will ‘greet’ Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors at the White House this afternoon where they are going to hold the second round of talks between the parties, US official says," he wrote on X.
The upcoming engagement follows a landmark diplomatic development on April 14, when Israel and Lebanon held their first direct talks in 43 years. That meeting also took place in Washington and included U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with both countries represented by their ambassadors to the United States.
