Media: UAE poised to assume civilian administration of Gaza
The United Arab Emirates is preparing to take control of Gaza’s civilian administration in a move coordinated with the United States and supported by Israel, Israeli TV channel N12 reports.
Officials familiar with the discussions said Abu Dhabi has proposed assuming full responsibility for Gaza’s civilian affairs, backed by a multi-billion-dollar investment. According to the report, draft agreements have been exchanged among the three parties in recent days.
Under the proposed initiative, the UAE would oversee all markets and trade within Gaza, deploy armed security forces to protect logistics centres, and operate in coordination with US private security firms.
The plan envisions that all goods entering Gaza would be purchased from Israel, with Israeli contractors responsible for implementation. Existing distribution points would be restructured into centralized logistics hubs serving Gaza’s private sector.
Senior Israeli officials characterized the proposal as a “comprehensive Emirati takeover of civilian responsibility,” adding that the UAE is prepared to enter Gaza at full scale and act as the territory’s civilian sponsor.
