Media: Unknown drone paralyses airport operations in Norway
An unidentified drone was spotted flying near the airport in the Norwegian town of Brønnøysund.
According to NRK, airport control personnel detected the unknown drones in the vicinity of the airport at 20:17 (local time) on Tuesday, September 30. Around 21:50, police responded to the call and began searching for the operator, but were unable to locate them.
“We observed the drone in the air but could not identify the pilot controlling it. After some time, we concluded the search operation at the scene,” said Morten Sørensen, a representative of the Nordland Police District.
This event follows a wave of similar incidents since mid-September 2025, often coinciding with NATO exercises and Russian military activities near borders. Norwegian officials, including the Police Security Service (PST), have described them as a potential "campaign" targeting critical infrastructure, though no attributions have been made. Russia has denied involvement, calling accusations "groundless."
