Media: Unknown drones seen over US base in Louisiana housing nuclear bombers

Unknown drones have been detected over Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana for several consecutive nights, The Independent reported. The base hosts the U.S. Air Force’s strategic B-52 nuclear-capable bombers.

According to the report, the incidents forced base commanders to impose isolation measures and temporarily suspend runway operations.

Military officials suspect the drone flights may be related to reconnaissance or testing of defence systems. However, the exact purpose and organisers of the incursions remain unknown.
