Media: US aims to seize full control of Iran’s oil reserves
07 March 2026 14:25
Jarrod Agen, director of the US National Council on Energy Dominance, stated that the United States intends to take full control of Iran’s oil reserves in an interview with Fox News.
Asked about the impact of escalating tensions in the Middle East on global oil prices, Agen said that ultimately there would be no need to worry about issues in the Strait of Hormuz because the United States would take all the oil out of the hands of the Iranian leadership.
Earlier, Qatari Energy Minister Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi warned that oil prices could rise to $150 per barrel if the Middle East crisis continues and tankers cannot freely transit the Strait of Hormuz, forecasting that price spikes could occur within two to three weeks.
