Media: US "furious" over Türkiye's continued trade with Russia
German media reports suggest that the United States is "furious" over Türkiye’s ongoing trade relations with Russia.
Türkiye's substantial trade with Russia, particularly the supply of high-tech products that could be used in Russia’s military operations, is causing significant frustration in Washington, Caliber.Az reports, citing an article in one of the German-based newspapers.
With Western companies increasingly withdrawing from the Russian market, Türkiye has noticeably intensified its economic engagement with Moscow, drawing considerable attention from Western nations.
The report further notes that the US has already implemented secondary sanctions against companies from third countries that assist Russia in circumventing sanctions. As a result, Turkish exports to Russia have reportedly declined by 30% in recent times.
This intensification of economic ties between Türkiye and Russia comes amid broader efforts by the US and its allies to isolate Russia economically due to its ongoing military actions.
