Media: US has not confirmed Iranian mines in Strait of Hormuz
The United States has not confirmed reports that Iran has deployed naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz, despite ongoing military inspections in the strategically significant maritime corridor.
According to NBC News, citing sources familiar with the matter, U.S. forces continue to conduct search operations in the area using underwater drones, robotic systems, and both manned and unmanned aircraft.
The searches have identified several objects that appear to resemble naval mines. However, none of the objects have been conclusively verified as mines.
As of now, U.S. officials do not have confirmed evidence that Iran has mined the Strait of Hormuz. Investigations and monitoring efforts remain ongoing as authorities continue to assess the situation.
