Media: US–Iran talks may resume on June 5
24 May 2026 15:01
The next round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran could take place on June 5, Al Hadath reports, citing informed sources.
A preliminary agreement between the United States and Iran is expected to take the form of a memorandum of understanding, which would be followed by further negotiations on final issues, the report added.
Sources indicate that the potential interim deal may be titled the “Islamabad Declaration.”
They also noted that Pakistan, acting as the main mediator in the process, could announce the memorandum without the direct presence of the two sides, while Washington and Tehran are expected to send the heads of their delegations once talks on a final agreement begin.
