US-Israeli fighter jets carried out a missile strike at approximately 2:00 a.m. on March 4, targeting the Ismat Girls’ School in the Darachay district on 22 Bahman Street in the Iranian city of Urmia, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.
The report states that the missile completely destroyed the school building. Images published by the agency show the extent of the damage, indicating that the structure was reduced to rubble as a result of the strike.
Tasnim described the Ismat School as an important educational centre for girls in the region, emphasising its role in shaping the future of young residents. “The Ismat School was an important educational centre for girls in the region and a place where the future of young residents was shaped. Today, it became a victim of military aggression, shattering the dreams of innocent children and depriving them of a safe space for learning,” the agency said.
As of now, there is no confirmed information about casualties or injuries resulting from the attack. Authorities have not yet released further details.
