Media: US planning all-out war against Iran

The United States is planning an all-out war against Iran following the deaths of American service members in Jordan, a U.S. official told The Washington Post. According to the official, the Pentagon is increasing the number of military aircraft deployed to the region.

Another source told the newspaper that any expansion of U.S. operations would be constrained by dwindling stocks of air defence systems and long-range munitions. In addition, the ability to deploy more troops and aircraft to the Middle East would also be limited due to combat-related damage.

"We do not have enough to safely sustain operations, and I don’t think the White House is aware of that," the official said.

According to the Washington Post, at least three American service members have been killed since the United States and Iran resumed exchanging strikes. On July 18, Iran struck U.S. facilities in Jordan. The attack killed two U.S. soldiers, while another went missing. One person remains listed as missing.
