US President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine, a source familiar with the matter spoke to Axios.
The call comes just one day before Trump is set to host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House, where the two leaders are expected to discuss a potential transfer of US Tomahawk long-range missiles to Ukraine.
The White House has not yet issued an official comment in response to inquiries regarding the planned call.
Last week, Trump stated that he had informed President Zelenskyy of a possible new ultimatum to be presented to Moscow. Under the proposal, Russia would be given a clear choice: engage in serious peace negotiations or face the prospect of Ukraine receiving Tomahawk missiles.
