Media: US, UK forces strike targets in Yemen
The US and UK forces have conducted airstrikes in Yemen.
Three rounds of strikes have targeted Saada, a city in the mountainous northwest of Yemen controlled by the Houthi rebel group, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
However, there has been no official confirmation from the US or UK military. The reported strikes occurred just hours after a ballistic missile was launched from Yemen toward Israel, according to the Israel Defense Forces, who stated that the missile was intercepted before it could reach Israeli territory.
A spokesperson for the Houthis on Telegram stated that the attacks will persist until the fighting in Gaza ceases, though they did not directly claim responsibility for the missile launch.
Earlier, Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have reported that the US and UK carried out six airstrikes on Sana'a, the capital of Yemen. The strikes targeted buildings, including the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Information. There is no information on whether there are any casualties or injuries from the attack, or on the extent of the damage. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated that the Yemeni armed forces, allied with the Houthis, are prepared to respond to any further aggression.
