Medieval cemetery discovered in Azerbaijan PHOTO

A historical medieval cemetery has been discovered near Azerbaijan’s Jalilabad district's Hajiismayilli village.

The announcement came from Fariz Huseynli, Spokesman for the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports.

The area of the cemetery was taken under control by employees of Salyan Regional Department of the State Service, he said.

Various inscriptions and symbolic drawings were found on tombstones, as well as Arabic inscriptions.

The work on entering this historical monument into the register has been started.
