"Merry Christmas, Radical Left Scum": Trump targets political opponents

US President Donald Trump has sharply criticised his political opponents in a Christmas message, referring to them as “Radical Left Scum.”

He made the remarks on his social media platform, Truth Social, per Caliber.Az.

“Merry Christmas to all, including the Radical  Left Scum that is doing everything possible to destroy our Country, but are failing badly,” the US leader wrote.

In the same post, Trump addressed issues related to the economy, domestic security, and social policy. He highlighted record stock market performance, GDP growth, and low inflation, linking these achievements to the tariff policies of his administration.

“No Inflation, and yesterday, a 4.3 GDP, two points better than expected. Tariffs have given us Trillions of Dollars in Growth and Prosperity, and the strongest National Security we have ever had. We are respected again, perhaps like never before. God Bless America!!!” he concluded.

Following his return to the presidency after the 2024 election, Trump's rhetoric against the "radical left" has intensified amid heightened political tensions, including threats of government shutdowns, media lawsuits, and incidents of political violence.

In September, Trump and his administration repeatedly blamed "radical left" Democrats and liberals for obstructing governance, such as when federal agencies like HUD and the EPA faulted them for a near-government shutdown over budget disputes. That same month, after a shooting incident targeting conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Trump accused left-wing rhetoric of inciting "radical left political violence," urging Americans to reject it while downplaying right-wing extremism and stating he "couldn't care less" about such concerns. He doubled down by warning of retribution against "radical left Democrats," framing them as threats to national security.
