Mexico: Two officers killed, 15 injured in blast outside police station VIDEO

At least two law enforcement officers have been killed after a car exploded outside a police station in Ojocaliente, in Mexico’s Zacatecas state.

Another 15 people suffered shrapnel injuries, including an infant, according to La Jornada. The injured were taken to hospital, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

The explosion occurred during celebrations for the city’s patron saint.

Preliminary reports suggest that members of criminal groups operating in the region may have planted an explosive device in the vehicle.

Ojocaliente has in recent years been an area of conflict between the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.
