Militants kill nearly 70 people in DR Congo

At least 69 people have been killed by militants in the northeastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, AFP reports, citing the country’s security services.

According to the agency, the attacks targeted isolated villages located in Ituri province. Most of those killed were civilians.

Authorities suspect the armed group Cooperative for the Development of the Congo (CODECO) of carrying out the attacks.
