Military training aircraft crashes in Poland Killing pilot
A military training aircraft, the M-346 Bielik, crashed during a training flight at an airfield in the city of Gdynia, located in northern Poland.
The incident resulted in the death of the pilot, Caliber.Az reports per Russian sources.
"The M-346 Bielik aircraft hit a slab of the airfield at the Gdynia aerodrome today during a training flight. A rescue operation is underway," a statement by joint command of the Polish Armed Forces said.
General Nowak Ireneusz, Inspector of the Polish Air Force, General Command of the Armed Forces, confirmed the fatality, stating that the pilot, who was serving as the deputy squadron commander, died instantly. "The pilot, who was acting as deputy squadron commander, died on the spot. He made no attempt to eject," Nowak said during a press conference broadcast by TVP Info.
