Military warehouse blast injures 16, damages over 3,700 buildings in Uzbekistan
Sixteen have been injured and over 3,700 residential and non-residential properties have been damaged in an explosion in Uzbekistan's Sirdarya region.
The explosion took place at a warehouse of Uzbekistan's Defence Ministry on October 22, Gazeta.Ru reports citing the regional administration.
"The settlements located near the military unit were completely blocked and cordoned off. According to calculations, there was partial damage to the roof, ceilings, windows, and doors in 3,742 residential and non-residential premises," the Sirdarya region administration said in a statement.
To assess the damage caused by the explosion, a special working group was created, which included representatives of relevant departments and local authorities, the regional administration added.
According to the Health Ministry, 16 people were injured as a result of the incident.
