Million-dollar historical artifact operation in Antalya
Two suspects were detained in the operation in which 35 pieces of historical artifacts, which are considered to belong to the Roman period, were seized in the Manavgat district of Antalya.
District Gendarmerie Command teams acted upon the knowledge that suspects AY and RG would be smuggling historical artifacts, TRT Haber reports.
After the technical and physical follow-up, the vehicle with the suspects was stopped in Evrenseki District.
During the search of the vehicle, 14 gold pendants in the form of hearts and leaves, 3 gold pendants with stones, 2 gold earrings in the shape of a crescent moon, 2 gold earrings with tassels, a gold ring, a gold ring, a gold child's necklace and 11 rubies were seized.
It is stated that the historical artifacts are worth about 10 million liras.
