Millions of Americans rally nationwide in largest anti-Trump demonstrations yet

On June 14, a nationwide wave of "No Kings" protests erupted across the United States, marking one of the largest anti-Trump demonstrations in recent history.

The protests, organised by the grassroots "50501" movement, took place simultaneously across all 50 states, drawing an estimated five million participants nationwide, Caliber.Az reports, citing US media.

The movement, which aims to hold the Trump administration accountable, staged demonstrations coinciding with President Trump’s 79th birthday and a $40 million military parade in Washington, D.C., marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, tens of thousands marched through cities including San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose. Protesters voiced strong opposition to the federal government’s deployment of National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles in response to recent immigration protests. Human banners formed along Ocean Beach and a notable 7-mile rally stretched between Tesla showrooms.

Los Angeles saw thousands gathering peacefully, though some clashes erupted near City Hall, where police used tear gas and flashbang grenades to disperse certain crowds.

In New York City, demonstrators filled the streets near Trump Tower, chanting slogans such as “We protect us” and “Mr. President, how long must women wait for liberty?” Other cities including Phoenix, Little Rock, and Flagstaff reported significant turnout despite extreme weather conditions.

The "50501" movement, founded earlier this year, has rapidly become a key force in nationwide protests. It advocates for the impeachment of President Trump, protection of minority rights, and the reinstatement of federal diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
