Minibus crash in central China kills 13, injures three
At least 13 people were killed and three others injured after a minibus collided with a lorry on a motorway in central China, authorities said on May 28.
The accident occurred early in the morning in Henan Province near the city of Nanyang, according to local traffic police, Caliber.Az reports per Chinese media.
The minibus crashed into the lorry on the G40 motorway, a major highway linking Shanghai with northern parts of China.
Police said 16 people were travelling in the minibus, despite the vehicle being licensed to carry only nine passengers.
Three survivors sustained injuries and were taken for medical treatment. Their conditions have not yet been disclosed.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. China’s Ministry of Public Security has dispatched a team to the scene to assist with the inquiry.
