Minister: Azerbaijan ready to cooperate with FAO on multilateral platforms
Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov has said that such initiatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as “Hand in Hand”, “From Field to Table”, “Solidarity in Health” and others are the modern guidance for responding to critical factors affecting food security.
“Azerbaijan joins these initiatives with great enthusiasm and is ready for effective cooperation on multilateral platforms,” Karimov made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the international conference entitled "Vision for the Future: Transition to Digital Agriculture", Report informs.
"We attach great importance to cooperation with FAO within the organization's strategies and programs aimed at increasing the resilience of the global food security system," the minister said.
Karimov stressed that today Azerbaijan is a country with the rapidly developing economy in the region.
“Our main goal is to develop a national food security system by diversifying the economy. Our agricultural policy is based on fair and equal principles. This policy is in line with the FAO’s goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” the minister added.
“For this reason, we have launched the E-Agricultural Information System to facilitate access to all services and state support,” Karamov said.
