Minister: Azerbaijani national team achieves historic success at World Wrestling Championships
The Azerbaijani national team has achieved historical success at the World Wrestling Championship in Belgrade.
Mikayil Jabbarov, president of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, made the remarks on his page on social network X, Caliber.Az reports.
He emphasized the success of Azerbaijan's Greco-Roman wrestling team, which became the world champion in the team competition.
"Our athletes, who won 2 gold and 3 silver medals in Greco-Roman wrestling, scoring 120 points, became world champions in the team competition for the first time. We express our gratitude to our wrestlers and coaching staff, worthily representing our country".
To recap, based on the results of the World Wrestling Championship in Serbia's capital Belgrade, the Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestling team achieved historical success at the tournament.
With 2 gold and 3 silver medals, and 120 points, the Azerbaijani athletes clinched the title in the team competition for the first time in its history.
In addition, the Greco-Roman wrestling team achieved the best result in the history of Azerbaijani wrestling teams at the World Championships, both in terms of medals and points scored.
