Minister: Hungary to refuse Russian oil only in one case
11 May 2022 13:44
Hungary will support the embargo on Russian oil import only if the European Commission proposes a solution to the further consequences.
“If Hungary decides to ban Russian oil, this will result in devastating consequences for the Hungarian economy,” Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said, TASS reports.
The minister stressed that the embargo should not be imposed against oil, which is supplied to Hungary through the pipeline.
“Hungary will voice this position during further negotiations,” Szijjarto said.
Earlier, Spokesman for the European Commission Eric Mamer said that the sixth package of sanctions against Russia is still being discussed in the EU.
