Minister reveals timeline shift in joint US-Israel operation against Iran

An operation against Iran was originally planned for mid-year but was rescheduled to February due to changing circumstances, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz stated. 

During a visit to the country’s Military Intelligence Directorate, Katz linked this to events occurring inside Iran, according to journalist Amit Segal’s Telegram channel.

"The operation was planned for mid-year <...>, but due to unfolding events and circumstances—especially what happened inside Iran, the position of the US president, and the possibility of conducting a joint operation here—it became necessary to move everything to February,” Segal quoted Katz as saying.

According to the minister, Iran, despite a “strategic warning,” was caught off guard by the Israel-US operation, which had an advantage in “intelligence and operational readiness.”
