The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has stated that air raid sirens were activated across several regions of the country following the launch of missiles from Iranian territory toward Israel.
The IDF press service confirmed that the Israeli Air Force is currently conducting operations to intercept the incoming threats and strike the sources of the missile fire, Caliber.Az reports.
In its statement, the military warned that Israel's missile defence systems do not guarantee complete protection, urging civilians to strictly follow all instructions issued by the Home Front Command.
The IDF also called on the public to remain calm and stay in designated protected areas until further notice.
Later, the IDF confirmed explosions in the Tel Aviv suburb. Civilians were instructed to take shelter in bomb shelters as air raid sirens sounded.
According to the news portal Ynet, approximately 20 missiles were launched in total during this latest barrage.
This Iranian missile attack comes in the context of recent U.S. and Israeli military operations targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. On June 21, 2025, the United States reportedly conducted airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—destroying key components of Iran’s nuclear program, with President Donald Trump describing the operation as a "very successful attack."
These strikes were coordinated with Israel, which had already been engaged in a campaign dubbed "Operation Rising Lion," targeting Iranian missile launchers, air defense systems, and other military infrastructure over the preceding weeks. Israel’s air campaign, which began in October 2024 with "Operation Days of Repentance," had significantly degraded Iran’s air defenses and missile capabilities, reportedly destroying over 950 Iranian drones and 200 missile launchers before they could be used against Israel.
