Missile strikes another tanker near Omani coast
A tanker has been struck by a missile off the coast of Oman in the latest maritime security incident reported by the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the British Royal Navy's maritime security coordination centre.
According to UKMTO, the attack occurred approximately 13 nautical miles southeast of Limah, Oman. The vessel's crew reported that the tanker was hit by a missile while transiting the southern route toward the exit of the area.
The coordination centre said the incident is under investigation and did not release additional details regarding the vessel, its cargo, or any potential damage.
The latest strike follows another reported maritime incident earlier the same night. UKMTO said a tanker was hit by a projectile approximately 40 nautical miles northeast of the Omani coast. No injuries were reported among the crew in that attack.
