Moldova gains major security backing from United States
The United States will allocate $36.5 million to Moldova to bolster its national security, Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The funding is part of the US National Security and Department of State Appropriations Act, which was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump.
“This decision reflects the high level of trust and the maturity of the security partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America, as well as the United States’ unwavering commitment to supporting Moldova in a regional context marked by numerous challenges,” the ministry said in a statement.
The assistance will target key priorities, including energy and cyber security, strengthening national resilience, and other areas critical to Moldova’s security infrastructure.
