Moldova halts operations at Palanca border crossing after technical failure

Moldova’s largest border crossing in the south, Palanca, has temporarily suspended operations due to a communications line failure, Moldova’s Border Police announced, advising travellers to use neighbouring crossing points.

The authorities said the failure had disrupted the internet connection and caused malfunctions in the information systems used for border control, adding that the fault had occurred outside the border crossing, Caliber.Az reports, citing Moldovan media.

Palanca is located along a major transport route connecting Moldova with Ukraine’s Odesa region.
