Moldova opens wide probe into political party financing

Authorities in Moldova are conducting large-scale searches as part of an investigation into the alleged illegal financing of political parties.

Approximately 50 searches are underway on April 23 in the Orhei district, spanning several localities, Newsmaker reports.

The operation is linked to an ongoing investigation into suspected illegal financing of political organisations.

The National Anti-Corruption Center confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, but said no further details have been released at this stage.
