Moldova’s ex-judge found dead in suspected suicide

Moldovan authorities have discovered the body of former Appeal Court judge Mihail Diaconu under a bridge in the capital, Chisinau.

Diaconu had previously failed the vetting process — a government-led integrity check for judges and prosecutors, Caliber.Az reports, citing Moldovan media.

He was later charged with influence peddling.

Preliminary investigations suggest that his death was a suicide.
