Moldova simplifies transit of rail cargo from Ukraine
The Moldovan government has approved a protocol eliminating double and, in some sections, triple control operations by customs and border guard authorities for railway cargo.
The modified protocol simplifies procedures of railway transit of cargo through the territory of Ukraine with a destination to Moldova and Romania and the territory of Moldova with a destination to Ukraine and Romania, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing the Moldovan government’s press service.
"The project introduces changes to eliminate customs and border controls of Ukraine at Reni station. This will reduce the time for transporting goods from/to the Giurgiulesti port complex or Romania and will positively impact the final cost of goods,” said Lilia Dabija, Moldova’s infrastructure minister.
