Moldova summons Belarus envoy following Lukashenko's statements
Moldova's Foreign Ministry has summoned Belarus Ambassador Anatoliy Kalinin following President Alexander Lukashenko's statements that Washington is pushing Europe into a military confrontation with Russia on Ukraine's territory, and that this may affect Moldova.
"After the statements made recently by the Belarusian leader regarding our country, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry summoned the Belarusian ambassador to Chisinau to receive clarifications and present the principled position of our country," said Daniel Voda, head of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry press service, TASS reports.
According to him, "the citizens of the Republic of Moldova strongly condemn" the Russian "military operation" in Ukraine.
Voda also expressed regret that Belarus is promoting messages in the public space aimed at creating disinformation and fakes.
