Moldovan opposition blocks main street of Chisinau

The Moldovan opposition, which is picketing the building of the General Prosecutor's Office, has blocked traffic on Stephen the Great Park in Chisinau.

The protesters refuse to obey the demands of the police to restore traffic on the main street of the city, TASS reports.

As a result, buses are now operating along alternative routes. In addition, tens of thousands of people, according to the rally's organisers, flocked to the streets.

The law enforcement agencies have not yet provided their data on the number of rally participants.

Police officers do not stop the protesters. They also do not use force, despite a ruling of the Commission for Emergency Situations that bans street-blocking rallies on weekdays.
