Mongolian parliament approves speaker’s resignation

On March 30, the Parliament of Mongolia approved the resignation of Speaker Nyam-Osor Uchral, Xinhua reports.

The motion was supported by 80.2% of the 101 members present at the plenary session of the 126-seat unicameral parliament.

Uchral submitted his resignation earlier the same day after being nominated for the position of Prime Minister of Mongolia. He is set to succeed Gombojav Zandanshatar, who voluntarily stepped down on March 27.
