Montenegro approves extradition of Interpol-wanted suspect to Azerbaijan

Montenegro has approved Azerbaijan's request to extradite Azerbaijani citizen Hidayat Neymat oglu Suleymanov, who was wanted through Interpol, Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's Office has stated.

The Prosecutor General's Office said Podgorica's High Court ruled that Suleymanov should be transferred to Azerbaijan under a simplified extradition procedure, Caliber.Az reports.

It noted that Suleymanov is accused of fraud in a criminal case being investigated by the Sumgayit City Police Department.

He allegedly fled the investigation and was subsequently placed on Interpol's international wanted list before being detained in Montenegro.

Azerbaijan's Penitentiary Service under the Ministry of Justice is currently taking steps to arrange his transfer to the country.
