Moscow says welcomes Israel-Hamas four-day humanitarian pause deal
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said that Moscow welcomes the agreement between Israel and Hamas on a four-day humanitarian pause.
"Moscow welcomes the achievement of an agreement between Israel and Hamas on a four-day humanitarian pause. This is what Russia has been calling for since the beginning of the conflict escalation," TASS quotes her as saying.
She noted that Qatar's special efforts aimed at the practical implementation of the world community's call for de-escalation.
Earlier, the Qatari Foreign Ministry confirmed an agreement on a four-day humanitarian pause in the fighting between Israel and Hamas. "Qatar announces the success of its joint mediation efforts with Egypt and the United States between Israel and Hamas, which resulted in an agreement on a humanitarian pause," the Ministry said in a statement.
It also noted that the start time of the humanitarian pause will be announced within 24 hours, adding that the pause period may be extended.
