Mosque attack in Yemen kills 9, injures 12 including child
A tragic attack at a mosque in Yemen’s Al Bayda province has left nine people dead and at least twelve others injured, including a 12-year-old boy.
The incident occurred on the evening of June 7 in the village of Qarn al-Asad, where worshippers had gathered for prayer, Caliber.Az reports via Arab media.
An unidentified individual entered the mosque, threw a grenade, and opened fire indiscriminately on those inside. Initial reports suggest the attacker may have been suffering from a mental health condition, though this has not been officially confirmed. The assailant was taken into custody approximately an hour and a half after the attack. Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s identity, and no official motive has been disclosed. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
