Mossad confirms death of agent killed in overseas operation
Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad has confirmed the death of one of its operatives abroad, in a rare public acknowledgement of such a loss.
Mossad Director David Barnea said the agent, identified only by the codename “M,” was killed during a covert operation outside Israel. The announcement, reported by Clash Report, sheds limited light on an incident that remains largely classified.
Barnea described the operative as a key figure in missions targeting Iran, noting that “M” had led complex operations characterised by creativity, deception, and the use of advanced technologies.
While officials did not disclose specifics, the agent’s death is believed to be connected to an incident that took place in Italy in 2023. No further details have been released, and the circumstances surrounding the operation remain undisclosed.
