"Most beautiful killer" faces death penalty in South Korea
South Korean prosecutors have sought the death penalty for a woman accused of killing two men and injuring four others by giving them drinks laced with benzodiazepines, Yonhap reports.
Kim So-young is charged with spiking drinks given to three men between December 2025 and February 2026. Two of the men died, while the third survived.
She also faces additional charges of causing bodily harm to three other men using similar methods.
The prosecution asked the Seoul Northern District Court to impose the death penalty during the final hearing of Kim’s trial.
Kim has denied intending to kill the men, claiming that she gave them the drug-laced drinks to prevent them from touching her.
The case has drawn significant attention in South Korea, where Kim has been dubbed the “most beautiful killer” by local media. The court is expected to deliver its verdict on August 27.
