Mother in Ukraine caught attempting to sell 6-year-old son for $25,000 PHOTO
In Ukraine’s Volyn region, a 38-year-old woman is suspected of attempting to sell her own 6-year-old son for $25,000, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
Investigators say the woman, previously convicted of theft, had been raising her youngest child alone after a divorce, while her two older children live with their father. Authorities allege she decided to sell the child as she did not wish to continue caring for him.

In March 2026, she found a “buyer” and agreed to transfer the child for $25,000. The man who was offered the purchase of the boy alerted law enforcement authorities.
She has been formally charged under legislation related to the trafficking of a minor, which carries a potential sentence of long-term imprisonment. A court ordered her pre-trial detention.
The child has been placed in a children’s shelter under the supervision of social services.
