MP says Georgia may fall victim to political games
The West is losing the war in Ukraine at this stage - I remain suspicious that Georgia may even fall victim to a certain political game, Georgian Dream departee MP Dimitri Khundaze told PalitraNews TV.
According to him, the West made a mistake when Georgia found itself behind closed doors in 2008, and "the continuation of these mistakes is what is happening in Ukraine."
"We have been waiting for the open door policy for almost 20 years. Our country is under double pressure - on the one hand, the West brings Georgia into the political game with a chronic open-door regime, and on the other hand - Russia, the creator of even more dangers, plays with Georgia with the occupied territories and weapons," Kundadze said, interpressnews.ge reports.
Regarding the statement of the representative of the European Commission on the postponement of the deadline for consideration of Georgia's candidate status, according to Khundadze, the purpose of the 6-month deadline was to make it impossible to fulfil all the points despite the government's efforts.
