Mudflows trigger major flooding in southern Kyrgyzstan town

A flood triggered by mudflows has occurred in the town of Gulcho in the Alay District of Kyrgyzstan, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Preliminary reports indicate that 92 residential houses have been flooded, and two social facilities have been affected.

At the scene, 74 emergency personnel and 10 units of special equipment are involved in response operations.

Residents have also actively joined efforts to deal with the aftermath.

Cleanup operations and infrastructure restoration work are currently ongoing.
